The Color of Autism Foundation is committed to raising public awareness about autism spectrum disorders and devoted to empowering families and lessening their isolation. We are dedicated to ensuring that all people with autism receive appropriate, effective services to maximize their growth potential and to enhance the general public's awareness of autism.

Raising a child with Autism can be difficult for anyone, however in the Black community there are additional challenges that may affect us. Allthough early intervention is key, African American children with autism are one to two years older than white children before they're even diagnosed.
This web site will explore some of the reasons for this and also provide suggestions to correct these issues.


The Mom 2 Mom program is designed to provide a compassionate and encouraging environment for mothers of children with special needs to come together and share support.

Girls; Live, Love, Laugh, Inc. provides mentoring services for young girls in our community between the ages of 6 - 17 years old. We help create a better quality of life and feelings of empowerment through instructions in, proper hygiene, proper etiquette and the importance of a higher education. 

Special Needs Network’s mission is to raise public awareness of developmental disabilities and to impact public policy, while providing education and resources to families, children and adults.
